Role Overview

As a Web Developer at oCommerce, you'll help build the technology that powers our portfolio of ecommerce brands and internal operations. From Shopify storefronts and custom applications to AI-powered workflows and business automation, you'll work on projects that have a direct impact on how our companies grow. You'll collaborate closely with designers, marketers, ecommerce managers, and fellow developers to build fast, reliable, and scalable digital experiences. We value developers who enjoy solving problems, learning new technologies, and taking ownership of their work from concept through deployment. This isn't an agency environment where you'll build the same website over and over. You'll contribute to multiple brands and internal products, giving you exposure to a wide variety of technical challenges and opportunities to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Shopify storefronts and custom ecommerce functionality.
• Build responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using modern development frameworks.
• Collaborate with designers to transform mockups into polished, production-ready websites.
• Develop custom features, integrations, and internal business applications.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external platforms.
• Troubleshoot bugs and improve application stability.
• Optimize website speed, SEO, accessibility, and overall performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Work closely with marketing and ecommerce teams to implement new features and campaigns.
• Stay current with emerging web technologies and AI development tools.
• Continuously identify opportunities to automate manual workflows.

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of professional web development experience (Specifically Shopify, with bonus skills on Framer and Word Press).
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks.
• Familiarity with Shopify development and Liquid templating.
• Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Understanding of responsive web design principles.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of website performance optimization and SEO best practices.
• Experience with Node.js or backend development is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
